 ZERA was founded in 1920, have more than 80 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of meter test systems and components. By joining the modern technology with ZERA experience, ZERA become the world wide supplier of these kinds of products.

 

ZERA is an international oriented company. By using newest technologies; ZERA develops, manufactures and sells devices, equipment and systems for the testing of:

ZERA was founded and entered under the name of "Zähler-Eich- und Reparatur-Anstalt" in the commercial register of the town of Königswinter. The company name "Zähler Eich- und Reparatur-Anstalt" means in the English translation "Meter Calibration and Repair Institution", to string together the first characters the German Company name will create "ZERA".

 Many of the customers are electric supply companies and government metrological institutes.

For manufacturing companies ZERA constructs electric testing equipment which is used in quality assurance systems. ZERA exports about 50 percent of its total production to all countries in Europe, the Middle and Far East as well as to South America.

 ZERA's range of products covers stationary and transportable test equipment according to national and international standards (eg. DIN, IEC, BS) and according to customers specifications. 

ZERA also has comprehensive know-how in automation and handling techniques. Ability, craftsmanship and experience based on long established tradition provide ZERA with important prerequisites for achieving high quality levels. ZERA are aware that quality cannot be "test-injected" into a product but that it has to be derived initially from the high manufacturing standards of its components.

 First steps in the production of Fully Electronic Electricity Meter Calibration Systems were made 20 years ago by ZERA.

 The system manufactured and offered by ZERA comprises components based on most modern technologies. It therefore combines long term experience in this field with the application of state of the art technology. The recently developed new software is based on ZERA’s historical experience in providing various testing solution to numbers of manufacturers, Utility companies, Metrological institutes etc.

 We master the development of modern power electronics, up-to-date digital measuring systems, state of the art application software and the design of rigid long-lasting mechanical components. This allows us to supply complete system solutions in the well known ZERA quality.

 This competence and experience as well as our competitive situation to be manufacturer of test systems but not of meters makes us partner of numerous meter manufacturers worldwide. We are involved in development processes of new products and adapt our test technology in the earliest stage possible. In particular the development of modern static meters increased the requirements for testing equipment. We faced this challenge by presenting numerous new products, representing optimized solutions in terms of technology and budget.

 We do have a lot of experience in designing custom specific automated test equipment, including the integration into networks and host computers.

 The modular test systems developed by us allow the optimum configuration for your test system, individually adapted to your requirements, efficient and with a promising future.

 ZERA Calibration Laboratory

Tradition

Since 1920 measuring and testing devices have been developed, designed, produced and tested by ZERA. In June 1998 ZERA achieved the certification according to the quality assurance standard ISO 9001.

Innovation

Developing new metrological methods of measurement and the integration of these innovations into our products and services led to the accreditation of Our Calibration Laboratory according to DIN EN 45001 by the "Physikalisch -Technische - Bundesanstalt ( PTB )" being the accrediting institute of the German Calibration Service.

Since July 2002 ZERA calibration laboratory is accredited according to DIN EN 17025 to be A DKD - calibration laboratory
